Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)

Who we are:

We are a team of qualified Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Clinicians who provide a confidential treatment and counselling service for people seeking assistance to manage substance misuse.

What we do:

RDGP AOD service is informed by evidence based practice, utilising models of good practice to improve physiological and psychological health, and improve social functions for people seeking treatment for substance misuse.

The team work closely alongside, GPs, other AOD providers, and Mental Health services to ensure a best fit approach.

RDGP provide AOD services in the following locations:

  • Mount Gambier
  • Naracoorte

As the service further develops and rolls out, RDGP will offer services in other areas across the Limestone Coast.

How to refer clients:

Service providers:

Clients can be referred to RDGP utilising the RDGP Community Referral Form, and faxed to our confidential fax line 8582 5050.

Clients are contacted within 2 working days of the referral being received by a Triage Nurse or AOD Clinician.

Clients can be referred to RDGP utilising a GP Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment Plan (MBS item number 2715 and 2717)

For clients to access more than 6 sessions, a GP Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment plan review (MBS Item number 2712) is required.

Referrals from General Practices are sent via Argus. Clients are contacted within 2 working days.
