  • 5 years GP experience in Rural Victoria
  • District Medial Officer for Rural Health for three and a half years including sharing on call for RFDS
  • GP at Waikerie Medical Clinic since 1990

I am passionate about family, obstetrics, Western Bulldogs Football Club, cricket, games that stimulate mental activity and the Riverland as a wonderful place to live and bring up children.

  • Chief Consultant for Country Health SA – Safety and Quality since 2006

Governance experience:

  • Foundation President of the Rural Doctors Association (SA) since 1991
  • Foundation President of the Rural Doctors Association (Australia) since 1993
  • AICD Training

I am passionate about enhancing the role of rural doctors in a changing health system. Also I enjoy leisure and hobby time with family, my grandchildren, travel, houseboating, fishing and music.

Dr Raphael Torome

  • 20 years of international experience as a Doctor in Kenya, Somalia and South Africa

  • Member of the Barmera Uniting Church Council since 2007
  • Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) 2011
