The Loxton Practice is a 7 Doctor's rural, unopposed practice with a
1 on call roster to cover the local 35 bed hospital in a town with a district
population of 10,000.
The practice is an accredited RACGP teaching practice
and also has medical students as a part of the Flinders University
PRCC Programme.
AGPAL accreditation was achieved in March 2000.
Consulting hrs:
Monday - Friday: 08:30 - 11:30 (12:00-ward round lunch) and 14:00 - 16:30.
Saturday (emergencies only) 10:00am-11:00am

7 modern consulting rooms with computer workstations using
"Medical Director".

Treatment room for minor procedures. Separate room for ECG
and spirometry.

Other equipment includes Slit lamp, Audiometry and O2 Resus equipment.

Ambulance Station opposite.

We do home visits, as necessary, but most really unwell
patients present to hospital.
Fees: - Non Bulk Billing but less than AMA rates.
Cash discount.
Obstetrics: - approx. 100 deliveries a year performed at
local hospital with complicated obstetrics performed by the local GPs.
Anaesthetics: GPs provide anaesthetic services to
the visiting Specialists.
Teaching: The Practice is affiliated with Flinders Medical
Centre and take 1 or 2 full time students who reside in Loxton for the year and are attached to the practice.
The practice also supervises Rural Registrar Trainees
(basic and advanced). |
